Studies in Prana:
A systematic approach to developing the subtle body
Our most in-depth online offering to date


Receive all the tools you need to establish and deepen your personal practice based on seasonal awareness and subtle body anatomy. This six-month online course is designed for those who wish to develop an evolutionary yoga practice on both physical and subtle levels. 

Movement classes will be held live online each week, and lecture-style discussions on subtle body practices and philosophy will be held live online twice each month.

As we face this time of social, personal, and environmental reckoning, it's time for all of us to be stronger, kinder, and wiser than we have ever been. Deepening the integration between the physical- energetic-pscychological levels of your being is foundational to embodying these qualities.


Studies in Prana will consist of:
  • PracticeGuided weekly yoga asana sessions based on studies of the marma system, the Ayurvedic system of points that influence the circulation of the life-force or Prāna throughout our bodies, and how our practice evolves throughout the seasons of the year. By the end of the course, you will have a full toolbox of practices to keep your yoga practice fresh, vital, and dynamic.
  • LifestyleFull instruction on Yogic Lifestyle, or Dinacharya, including diet, hygiene, and seasonal herbal medicines to support the unfolding of your yoga practice.
  • StudyBimonthly live webinars - Scott will offer integral teachings on the subtle body philosophy and applications, followed by an opportunity for you to engage in discussion about practice with Scott and other participants. 
  • Community — An online forum which enables you to deepen into community and to share experiences, tools, ideas and support with each other.


For those wishing to participate even more deeply in the Studies in Prana experience, join the MENTORSHIP tier for individual mentorship check-in calls with Scott at the beginning, middle, and end of the course.


A final component is available for those wishing to participate in the RETREAT component of the Studies in Prana experience — In addition to individual mentorship calls with Scott, the RETREAT tier will conclude with a five-day in-person retreat at Mount Madonna Retreat Center in California. If this option is within your means, we highly encourage you to take part in this potent offering.


Why Studies in Prāna?

Tantric sages articulated the exquisite intricacy of prāna’s role in enlivening the human body and activating consciousness. Through yogic practices, they realized that prāna acts as a power source; it enables our personal awareness to “turn on” and activate the subtle circuitry that links the body and mind.

According to the texts of yoga, prāna links the physical level of the body with our senses, minds, and spiritual essence. Experiential inquiry into this linkage between the physical and subtle body defines the path of Hatha Yoga.

The circulation of prāna can be influenced on the surface of the body at “vital points", called marmas. These junctions enable us to direct the flow of prāna during yoga practice. The 108 marmas mark the intersections of different muscles, joints, connective tissues, organs, nerves and subtle energy currents. According to the Ayurvedic tradition, marmas serve as the basic tools of physical and energetic alignment by revealing the interconnectedness of the gross and subtle body. Learning to work with the marmas during yoga practice reveals ways to reduce the effort required for postures, prevent injury, and develop skills for self-healing and subtle awareness. This is essential for in-depth practice of Hatha Yoga and will constitute the practical and philosophical center of this course.

  • RETREAT TIER: includes participation in the course, plus one-on-one mentorship calls with Scott, and participation in a culminating retreat at the Mount Madonna Retreat center April 20th - 24th, 2022.

Meet your Teacher:

Scott Blossom


Scott Blossom is a Traditional Chinese Medical practitioner, Yoga teacher & Ayurvedic Consultant.

He has been practicing yoga since 1990 and teaching since 1997 with his primary teachers Zhander Remete, the founder of Shadow Yoga, & Dr. Robert Svoboda, the great Ayurvedic physician and scholar.

In 2011 he founded DoctorBlossom.com, a site dedicated to Ayurvedic education & nutrition.
